Advanced Commission Report
The Advanced Commission Report calculates commission from your own rates and shows its working, line by line. You own the numbers. Bilflo applies the logic and shows you exactly how every figure was reached.
Where to find it
The report is in Report Center, under Compliance and HR Reports, named “Advanced Commission Report”. It appears automatically once your company has an active commission plan.
The setup page is reached from a link on the report itself rather than from the Settings menu.
How a rate is decided
Every rate resolves through a four step cascade. The first level that holds a value wins:
- The person’s own rate, set on their Team Profile
- The placement’s rate, set on the Contract Job
- The margin band, set on the plan
- The plan standard, your company default
A blank field is not a zero. Leaving a rate empty means “use the plan standard”, and the calculation falls through to the next level down. Only fill a rate in where that person or that placement genuinely differs from the standard. This is the most important thing to understand about the report.
Plan standards
| Component | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Recruiter, contract margin | 10% | Per person overrides apply |
| Recruiter, perm fee | 20% | Paid once the invoice is marked paid |
| Account manager, contract margin | 10% or 15% | 10% below 18% margin, 15% at or above |
| Account manager, perm fee | 15% | Paid once the invoice is marked paid |
| Dual role, contract margin | 25% | Where one person fills both roles |
| New placement bonus | $300 | Per qualifying placement |
| First placement at a client | $1,000 | Per qualifying new client |
| Minimum margin per hour | $5.00 | Below this, no commission is earned |
Where to enter your numbers
Per person, on the Team Profile. Five fields are available:
- Commission % Contract (Recruiter)
- Commission % Perm (Recruiter)
- Commission % Contract (Sales/AM)
- Commission % Perm (Sales/AM)
- Commission % Dual Role
Per placement, on the Contract Job: Recruiter %, Sales Rep %, and the equivalents for a second person sharing the placement.
The plan itself, on the setup page: standards, the margin band, bonuses and the minimum margin floor.
Who gets credited
Credit comes from two fields on each contract job: Sales Rep and Recruiter. If either is blank, no commission is credited for that leg of the placement. This is deliberate rather than an error, and it is the first thing to check if someone appears to be missing commission.
Reading the report
Four views are available.
Summary gives one line per producer: credited basis, commission, effective percentage, bonus dollars and total payout.
Detail gives the full calculation, one line per placement, showing the basis, the base rate, any adjustment, the multiplier, the rate actually applied and the resulting amount. For example: a placement with a basis of 1,481.35 at a base rate of 10.0000, no adjustment, multiplier 1.0000, gives an applied rate of 10.0000 and an amount of 148.14.
Excluded placements still appear in Detail, with the reason shown and a zero amount, so nothing is silently dropped.
Visibility shows what the current user is permitted to see. Config shows the plan as it is currently configured.
A quick sanity check
If every recruiter shows exactly the same percentage and account managers vary across a range, the cascade is working correctly: the recruiters are on the standard rate and the account managers are moving with the margin band. If every single person shows an identical percentage, per person rates are not being read, and that is worth raising.

Things worth knowing
Commission is recalculated from current data every time the report runs. It is not frozen at the point of payment, so time entered late for an earlier month will change that month’s figures.
Perm commission is held until the invoice is marked as paid. Until then it shows as not yet commissionable rather than as zero.
A placement earning less than the minimum margin per hour is excluded, and the reason is shown on the Detail view.
