Loxo Fields Bilflo Reads
Every value Bilflo pulls from your Loxo records, where to enter it, and what happens when it’s left blank or entered in the wrong format.
How to read this
Most of what goes wrong here goes wrong quietly. A missing start date or an unrecognized rate type doesn’t stop the sync; it imports a default, and the assignment arrives looking fine with the wrong numbers on it. The fields that hard-stop the sync are the safe ones, because you find out immediately.

Do this first
Make Loxo enforce the required fields
Rather than relying on everyone remembering this page, an account admin can make these fields mandatory in Loxo. Go to Settings → Custom Validations, which covers Company, Job, Person, and Placement records. Toggle Required on for each field below that matters to you, then Save. Required fields show a red asterisk and block the record from being saved without them.
One limit worth knowing: these validations apply to records created by hand. They don’t apply to records that arrive by resume parsing, job applications, Loxo Source, or the Chrome extension, so those still need spot-checking.
Company

Job

It has to match one of the placement types configured for you; see the last section. Set it on the Job Setup page; the list itself lives in Settings → Types → Jobs. |

Placement
WhereLoxo → Jobs → [job] → move the candidate to Hired / Placed → placement card
The placement card is what actually triggers the sync into Bilflo, and it carries the numbers. A candidate and a job must both be attached or nothing is created.

One-time setup: placement types
Before any of the above matters, each of your Loxo job types has to be mapped on the Bilflo side to either a contract assignment or a direct hire. Bilflo configures this for you, but the mapping has to cover every job type you actually use.
If a placement comes through on a job type that isn’t mapped, the sync stops and records an unknown job type. Nothing is created and nothing is overwritten, so it’s a safe failure, but it stays stuck until the mapping is added. Tell us whenever you add a new Commitment type in Loxo and we’ll add it to the mapping.
Optional fields we can add
Everything above is what the sync reads today. Loxo carries plenty more that Bilflo can pick up if it would be useful to you. None of these are switched on by default, so if you are already maintaining any of them in Loxo and re-keying them into Bilflo, tell us and we can close that gap.
From the placement
